Little John has had two very busy days. Yesterday he had his ears checked and passed!!!YEA!!! His O2 was lowered to 1/4L. That's the level that he could come home on. All He was left is 1/8L and then nothing. Another very big thing that happened yesterday is that he took the bottle for the very first time and did very good with it. He took a little over half and that's very good for is first time. But he has to use a lot of energy and calories doing so. The nurses are starting out very slow with him. He had one bottle feeding yesterday and will have three today. Me and John will feed him is 6 o'clock feeding today. We also were told yesterday that he would come home in two or three weeks. It was the first time a doctor has gave us a time line.
Ok, today's good news. He was moved over to the progressive side of the nicu!! This was a big step for little John and us. That means hes that much closer to coming home. A side note for trina, his neighbor kayne went with him to the progessive side today. And they put them side by side over there.
The new pics on the site are pictures of him right before he got off the vent. Heres two pics of my two guys reading little john a book.

Good news and Bad news
Well the bad news first. Little John has stage 2 R.O.P. that's when the retina starts to detachment. The eye doctor told us not to worry about it yet.(Yea right) He said that sometimes it will fix its self. I did my own reseach and there is 5 stages of r.o.p. with 5 being blind. At stage 3 is when they start talking about surgery. I think its done with a laser but not sure. The eye doctor will be back next week to look at him again.
Now the good news. His eye doctor said that the cloudiness is gone!!! I was very surprised when he told us that since the last couple of times he said that they where. That's why he couldn't see if he had r.o.p. or not. We were very concerned about the cloudiness because that would mean little john was having a very hard time seeing.
And now more good news!! He is off the vapertherm and on regular oxygen. He was on 3/4liter yesterday and today he's at 1/2. The next step is 1/4 then 1/8 then nothing. Me and John where told that he could come home on 1/4 liter. But you never know about little John he could just take off and not have to come home on oxygen or maybe he will have to, you just never know. We are hoping that his doctors and nurses might start trying to bottle feed him next week. That might take awhile though. He is still 3 pounds and 11 ounces but he's holding, not losing. So that's always a good thing. I will write more when I here something new. I hope all is well with everyone.

LITTLE JOHNS UPDATE
Little John is still doing good. Yesterday his aunt jenny went to the hospital to visit him. He is at 1/L on his vaportherm and that's the lowest it will go. His O2 as been any where from room air to 30%. Which is very good. We have watched all the videos that way they are out of the way. And we are going to take his carseat up there tonight to make sure we can bring him home in it. Hopefully I will be getting new pictures soon.
He as a hernia on his left side by his groin area. That will have to be operated on maybe before he leaves. The doctors are waiting to see if the other side is going to have one too. He weighs 3 pounds and 11 ounces. I think almost all the fluid is gone. So I think that's his actual weight now. At least I hope so. He is now making hissing noises like a snake would make when he's crying. And when he gets mad you sure to know it. His face gets really red and he balls up his fists and makes those hissing noises. You can also tell that he's getting stronger because he keeps pulling out is g tube (feeding tube). He did it two times yesterday and two times the day before that. He was smiling yesterday when I was holding him. He probably had gas or something but it was still very cute!!!!

Update on Little John
Little John is out of his incubator!! So far today he has been able to keep is own temp. As long as he can keep it he will be able to stay in the big boy bed,( as we call it). Dr Smith is coming in this evening to take out his cvl line(central line) and since his stomach is doing so well he's going to change his formula. So please keep praying for our little angel to keep doing good. He's starting to look good. The swelling from him retaining fluid has came down a lot so you can see is neck now!!!! Yeah!!! I will be taking some pictures tonight of him out in a bed.

Our angel Little John

Little John is doing pretty good. He has been off the vent for a day now. He hasn't made any noises yet. I hope I'm there when he does though. Last night when they took out the vent tube they layed him on his belly. John was feeding him through is feeding tube and he said Anna look. When I got over there he was lifting his head and turning it to the other side. I had know idea that he could do that!!
